With the speed of abortion dramatically accelerated through open access to chemical abortion and women left to fend for themselves with abortion drugs, the pregnancy help movement is ready to respond everywhere a woman in need might turn for help.
The wide-open access to abortion pills has made life-changing decisions more immediate than ever for women, increasing the need for real-time support.
As Heartbeat International kicks off its 55th Annual Pregnancy Help Conference it is releasing its 2025 Annual Report showing how the pregnancy help movement is reaching and connecting with women worldwide around the clock, in person and virtually, demonstrating that no woman has to navigate her pregnancy decision alone.
Heartbeat, founded in 1971, is the largest network of pregnancy help organizations in the United States and globally. Its annual report illustrates the impact of its roughly 4,000 affiliates serving women and families across 102 countries.
Pregnancy help organizations include pregnancy help centers, medical clinics, maternity homes, adoptions agencies, and support programs serving in local communities.

Heartbeat saw significant successes in 2025, in particular with affiliate growth, global expansion, the number of people connected to pregnancy help, and growth in serving with Abortion Pill Reversal.
"Only the Spirit of God can account for the amazing accomplishments in the midst of intense battles against powerful forces,” Heartbeat International President Jor-El Godsey said. “Heartbeat's growth and achievements are anchored in the mission to unify and advance pregnancy help worldwide.”

“While laws and legislatures fail to adequately thwart Big Abortion, the pregnancy help community quietly makes a meaningful difference every single day," he said.
Along with Heartbeat’s celebrating the milestone of topping 4,000 affiliates in 2025, Option Line had the landmark statistic of exceeding 2M Connections. Option Line is the around-the-clock bilingual contact center managed by Heartbeat that provides a connection to pregnancy help through calls, texts, chats, emails, and its center locator tool. Every 15 seconds someone reaches out for help and professionally trained Option Line consultants are there to connect, assist and support, overnight and on weekends and holidays.
“Option Line meets women in that critical moment because speed to service can make all the difference,” said Vice President of Communications & Marketing Andrea Trudden. “Over the past year, we’ve seen a significant rise in women reaching out for help, underscoring both the growing need and the importance of being available 24/7/365.”
With digital communication so prevalent it can be easy for the human connection to be lost. However, Option Line and Heartbeat’s pregnancy help affiliates meet women’s and families’ needs whether virtually, in person, or both, while also maintaining that human connection.
Godsey stressed in introducing the Annual Report that Heartbeat and the pregnancy help movement were not reacting to cultural shifts, rather building infrastructure that ensures pregnancy help reaches a woman first.
Pregnancy help is increasingly connected, Godsey said, it is more immediate, and it is global.
This is deftly exhibited by the more than 1,500 medical professionals in the Abortion Pill Rescue® Network (APRN), also managed by Heartbeat International. These medical professionals practice in hospitals, clinics, and private practices across the country and internationally
The APRN administers the Abortion Pill Reversal protocol, which consists prescribing progesterone, the natural hormone in a woman’s body necessary to sustain pregnancy, to counter the effects of the first abortion pill, mifepristone.
There were 2408 reversal starts through the Network in 2025, on average, approximately 200 reversal attempts each month, and a 25% increase over the last five years. Statistics show that to date, more than 8,000 lives, and counting, have been saved thanks to the APRN.
“With abortion pills already on order or in hand, many women and families are looking for a voice of compassion and a sign that hope remains,” said Christa Brown, BSN, RN, and Heartbeat’s Senior Director of Medical Impact and Executive Director of the APRN.
“The pregnancy help movement stands ready to offer important information, valuable medical care and ongoing support,” Brown said. “We ensure that no woman must face a pregnancy choice alone. We are available wherever she is - online or in-person - and connect her to the compassionate community that surrounds her.”
Through Option Line, women can connect directly to nurses faster than ever before whether seeking Abortion Pill Reversal or answers to pregnancy-related concerns. PrenatalDiagnosis.org provides specialized support to families facing complex medical diagnoses. And new telecare models, including the developing High-Risk Response Network, are strengthening Heartbeat’s ability to connect women to meaningful ministry not in a day or two, but in under an hour.
And no matter whether a woman lives in a major city or a rural community, Heartbeat affiliates serve her where she lives. Behind every affiliate is a trained team prepared to meet women face to face, and often men as well.
Each affiliate organization operates independently, but remains connected to the global network for training, medical standards, and shared learning that lays the foundation for positive impact. When Option Line connects a woman locally, she is not sent into an unknown - she is connected to a prepared place ready to serve her.
Pregnancy help centers provide free pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, education, and material support. Adoption agencies and recovery programs offer care beyond the initial pregnancy decision. Maternity homes offer stability when a woman’s housing is uncertain.
Maternity housing ministries provide a safe, stable living environment, parenting education, employment and education support, case management and mentorship, community, and accountability. There were 717 maternity home ministries worldwide in 2025, and 181 maternity housing organizations trained by Heartbeat International. In 2025, 11,646 women were served by Heartbeat affiliated maternity homes.
Heartbeat continually equips the people who serve women with pregnancy help through its Academy, online and hybrid learning modules serving leaders and frontline staff, Pregnancy Help Institute, which is advanced leadership development for executive directors and emerging leaders, and its Annual Conference, a movement-wide gathering to sharpen skills, share innovation, and strengthen unity.
Heartbeat also took four sets of moms and babies to Capitol Hill in 2025 for its Babies Go to Congress initiative. Since 2009 there have been 16 Babies Go to Congress trips to Washington D.C. to meet with legislators and share the good news of pregnancy help, with more than 400 lawmakers’ offices visited.
Heartbeat International has increasingly worked to protect its affiliates’ ability to serve with pregnancy help, providing support in the areas of legal defense, public engagement, and strategic conversations with media and technology platforms to ensure pregnancy help organizations are not silenced or restricted.
"This beautiful report reflects more than numbers," Heartbeat International General Counsel Danielle Whote said. "It paints a picture of steadfast service in the face of sustained opposition."
"Even as we defend against litigation from those who seek to silence our message of hope, our commitment to women and families has not wavered," said White. "We remain resolute: to serve with excellence, to steward our resources with integrity, and to ensure that every woman who turns to us finds real support, real care, and real hope."
Heartbeat affiliates offer a wide variety of programs and services throughout the pregnancy and beyond. There were 2,347,663 client visits to heartbeat International-affiliated pregnancy help organizations in 2025.
More and more abortion is marketed as easy, instant, and private, and the pregnancy help community is effectively countering this by being immediate, effective, and personal.
“As Heartbeat International marks 55 years of ministry, we continue to lead with purpose, compassion, and a deep commitment to life,” said Cindi Boston, vice president of Mission Advancement for Heartbeat International.
“Every year, our direct services respond to more than 2 million cries for help, offering hope and support to women, men, and families facing unexpected pregnancies and related challenges,” Boston said. “Through training, leadership development, and ongoing support for pregnancy centers, medical centers, adoption agencies, and maternity homes, Heartbeat strengthens the work of local ministries across the globe.”
“By building stronger connections across the movement,” she added, “we are creating new opportunities for collaboration, expanding impact, and equipping thousands of frontline ministries to care for moms and dads in their own communities.”
