Emily is celebrating her first Mother’s Day thanks to pregnancy help

Heartbeat of Miami

Seventeen-year-old Emily came to Heartbeat of Miami pregnant and abortion-minded.

However, “God always has a beautiful plan and purpose for every life,” Heartbeat of Miami President Martha Avila said.

A view into the womb via an ultrasound and her baby’s heartbeat was what the Lord used to demonstrate the humanity of Emily’s baby, Avila said in a message to supporters, and now Emily will celebrate her first Mother's Day.

“We had the blessing of witnessing that unforgettable moment with much joy,” she said, expressing to supporters the impact of their support for the pregnancy help medical clinics.

Heartbeat of Miami is a group pregnancy help medical clinics with five Miami-area locations offering pregnancy tests, sonograms, pregnancy consultation and education, on-going support and referrals, prenatal referrals, adoption referrals, post-abortion counseling, parenting preparation, material goods., women's wellness, Abortion Pill Reversal, and the opportunity to learn about healthy sexual values and personal growth. All of the clinic’s services are confidential and free.

When Emily and her boyfriend saw the positive pregnancy test, they couldn’t believe it.

Then they found Heartbeat of Miami online and made an appointment for the following day.

“When me and my boyfriend first came in, we were very scared, very nervous. We didn’t know what to expect,” Emily said in a video message for the clinic.

All she could think about was how she was going to tell her mother about the pregnancy, she said.

“I came here, I took a test, and they confirmed for me that I am pregnant,” she said.

The disbelief remained for Emily.

“Then, after they brought me and my boyfriend to the room and I saw my baby on that ultrasound,” she recalled, “and it was very emotional, because it’s my baby. Me and my boyfriend made that baby.”

Emily was in high spirits at first, but then with the realization that she had to tell her parents she was very scared.

“But the staff here brought my confidence up to tell my parents that, yes, I’m pregnant, and it’s happening,” she said.

The next day Emily told her mom that she was pregnant.

“And she kind of freaked out,” said Emily. “So, she drove here to the clinic, and the staff comforted me, and my mom, and my boyfriend showed up too.”

“And they gave us a bunch of advice and support and made me feel great about having this baby,” Emily said.

After this, Emily’s mom opened up more with her and was feeling happy about the baby.

Emily gave the video message for Heartbeat of Miami when she was 39 weeks pregnant. She and her boyfriend knew they were having a boy, and planned to name him Jaden.

Heartbeat of Miami shared pictures with supporters of Mom, Dad, and Baby Jaden from Jaden’s delivery.

“And I’m very thankful and grateful for Heartbeat of Miami and the staff here because they made this happen,” Emily said. “I would never have thought I would be here today if it weren’t for them, and I thank them so much for everything.”

Heartbeat of Miami is celebrating its 18th Mother’s Day saving lives, empowering women, and uniting families with hope.
