Serving as a focal point of the running world, Monday’s annual running of the Boston Marathon raises an interesting question for pro-lifers who double as runners—or at least fancy themselves as such.

Even for those whose idea of “running” is intrinsically tied with “being chased,” a new giving site launched by Heartbeat International provides a simple, social-media friendly solution for personal fundraising.
YouSaveBabies.com, which utilizes a personal giving platform developed by Ministry Sync, connects over 2,000 local pregnancy help efforts throughout the U.S. with local donors through personal giving pages.
Ideas for a personal giving page—including no event or occasion at all—can range as far and wide as races, birthdays, anniversaries, in memory of loved ones, or as a way for groups of friends and church-based groups to support pregnancy help.

Starting a fundraiser is as simple as selecting an organization and filling out a brief fundraising form. All donations—less credit card transaction fees—go directly to the organization of choice.
After starting a fundraiser, users can spread the word via Facebook, Twitter and more.
“We’re confident YouSaveBabies will play a vital role in what Heartbeat International is most committed to doing—advancing life-affirming pregnancy help at the local level,” Heartbeat International president Jor-El Godsey said. “Pregnancy help organizations are rescuing lives and helping to build strong families every single day. Any pregnancy help organization listed on Heartbeat International’s 24-7 pregnancy helpline Option Line (1-800-712-HELP, OptionLine.org) is eligible to receive funds through YouSaveBabies, and organizations can also invite donors to use YouSaveBabies as a fundraising tool by adding a badge to their own donor-facing website.
Following a soft launch at Heartbeat International’s Annual Conference March 29-31, YouSaveBabies has seen 13 individuals raise $3,000 for local pregnancy help outreaches.
“This is a great step forward for our friends on the local level, and it’s another way we can work together to build a culture where no woman ever feels so alone or coerced that she feels abortion is her only choice,” Godsey said. “Pregnancy help provides compassionate support and real choice, and these life-saving organizations have a new friend in YouSaveBabies.”
