The 2022 U.S. midterm election is upon us, and it’s never been more important for pro-life Americans to be informed and have their voices heard.
Even though the Dobbs Supreme Court decision has overturned Roe v. Wade and the president is not on the ballot this year, there are many other races and ballot initiatives to be aware of and vote upon.
There is a lot of focus on presidential elections while midterm elections often get passed over by voters as not mattering as much. This is mistaken and at best, risky. As powerful as the office of the president is, the president can – ideally - do almost nothing without the support of the Senate and the House.
Voters should be up on the U.S. Senate or House positions open in their state and district, as well as the many gubernatorial or mayoral races, because these races matter.
“All politics is local,” as the saying goes, and being informed on the issues and those who are up for election at all levels is the best way to do one’s part in shaping the government where we live.
This time around the entire U.S. House of Representatives (435 members) is up for re-election, as are 35 of the 100 U.S. Senators and 39 state or territory governors.
Every state and local jurisdiction also has many additional elections and ballot initiatives.
Any number of these has the power to affect pregnancy help.

Three key examples are the states of Michigan, Vermont, and California, where Proposition 3, Proposition 5, and Proposition 1 respectively would enshrine extreme “abortion rights” in the state constitution.
Every vote for these propositions is a vote against life-affirming pregnancy help.
The importance of these ballot initiatives and all the races cannot be overstated, and people of faith and life are called to take part and stand for the sanctify of human life.
Life is a gift from God, one that He expects us to defend. The Declaration of Independence ensures the right to life in America. Abortion is not a human right, nor is it healthcare, and forcing U.S. taxpayers to fund abortion is morally wrong.

Regardless of the results of any election, the work of pregnancy help will still be necessary and sought out by women in need - but voting for life and pregnancy help is still key.
Now more than ever it may seem as though our individual vote doesn’t count, but just like every life matters, so does every vote. Every vote for pregnancy help today is a valiant statement against the current ongoing attacks on pregnancy help.
No matter the organization we are affiliated with or our personal situation in life it is appropriate to be civically active and also to encourage others to do so.
It is always fitting to vote one’s values and this time around our future and that of generations to come is the end game.
Life is on the ballot across the U.S. and pro-life voters should be in the voting booth.
Your vote on November 8 may seem small but it is in no way inconsequential in continuing to ensure the ability to provide life-saving pregnancy help in the United States.
