Pregnancy help organizations continue to step up in serving women by adding or expanding medical services while a leading pregnancy help network continually succeeds in connecting women to pregnancy help, a new report says.
As chemical abortion drives the abortion landscape the need to reach women wherever they are remains key, both in terms of effectiveness in connecting with them and being ready with medical services.
Heartbeat International released its 2026 Life Trends Report as it conducted its 2026 annual pregnancy help conference in Cincinnati. The report is a snapshot of pregnancy help for a given year, providing insight into cultural shifts and other changes over time. The 2026 Life Trends report is based on data from 2025 from Heartbeat International affiliates.
Heartbeat is the largest network of pregnancy help organizations in the U.S. and the world, with approximately 4,000 affiliates in 102 countries.
Pregnancy help organizations consist of pregnancy centers and medical clinics, mobile units, adoption agencies, abortion recovery, and maternity housing.
Heartbeat has more than 2,300 affiliated pregnancy help locations in the U.S., and of the known pregnancy centers in the U.S. just under 70% are Heartbeat affiliates.
Heartbeat also operates the 24/7 pro-life contact center Option Line, and the Abortion Pill Rescue® Network (APRN).

Highlights of the Life Trends report include a new total of pregnancy medical centers at 1,445, an increase of 17.7% since 2022, 1,283 pregnancy centers offering adoption support, an increase of 146 centers in one year, and 745 pregnancy centers now providing STI testing, nearly 10% growth in one year.
There was a significant increase in the number of centers now providing abortion pill consultation services, a 34% increase in one year to 269.
The report showed that pregnancy centers are expanding medical care to serve women more comprehensively. Medicalization of pregnancy centers is not new, but rather the ongoing evolution of the movement.
Ultrasound availability grew from 1,493 to 1,574 centers in 2025, and total number of medical centers and mobile units went from 1,548 to 1,615. Just under 3% of centers added well women visits, slightly over 2% added medical care following chemical abortion, and roughly 3.5% added prenatal care.
Seventy-six-point five percent of centers provide on-site ultrasound, up from 75 %, Thirty-six-point-two percent offer STD testing, up from 34.1%, and 27.7% offer Abortion Pill Reversal, up from 25.9%.
Heartbeat International’s president remarked on the ongoing expansion of medical services.
"While pregnancy centers involve more medical services each year, it's important to remember that it was the medical profession that was the very first wave of pregnancy help,” Jor-El Godsey said. “As far back as Hebrew midwives in Egypt, medical professionals have felt the calling to protect life and promote healing.”
“Pregnancy help in its modern form is evolving to serve women in ways that alleviate obstacles to choosing life for their baby,” Godsey said. “Our pregnancy help medical professionals honor the Hippocratic Oath with their life-saving outreach."

Heartbeat’s Senior Director of Medical Impact and Executive Director of the Abortion Pill Rescue Network spoke to the commitment on the part of the pregnancy help movement to meet women’s medical needs.
“While the abortion industry is failing to provide women any level of safe medical care, the pregnancy help community continues to rise to the call with compassion and excellence,” said Christa Brown BSN, RN.
“Abortions continue to be provided without in-person assessments, putting thousands at risk for adverse events every single day,” Brown said. “Led by faith and driven by love for both the woman and the child, pregnancy help medical clinics provide care that protects them both.”
Option Line, a project of Heartbeat International, is a round-the clock pregnancy helpline that provides vital services and support, particularly when pregnancy centers are closed.
Option Line had 329,029 direct connections in 2025. This consisted of 240,657 calls, 30,529 chats, 39,362 texts, and 18,481 emails.
Digital connections are made up self-service connects to pregnancy help via the center locator and the online pregnancy quiz, through the Option Line website. Option Line had 1,730,767 digital connects in 2025. All told the contact center made a connection to pregnancy help every 2025 during the year.
“This past year highlights the many ways women are reaching out for pregnancy help and the growing importance of being accessible across multiple channels,” said Heartbeat International Vice President of Communications and Marketing Andrea Trudden. “We must meet her where she is. Some women still want to speak with someone directly, while others prefer the privacy and anonymity of a digital connection.”
The data also reveals that 40% of women contacting Option Line do so between Friday and Sunday, when many pregnancy centers are closed, Trudden pointed out.
“This reinforces a critical reality,” she said. “The need for pregnancy help doesn’t follow business hours. Through Option Line, help remains open, accessible, and ready whenever she reaches out.”
The Abortion Pill Rescue Network has served women in all 50 states and 98 countries, with 92.5% of known rehearsals occurring in the U.S.
The Network includes nearly 1,500 healthcare professionals, pregnancy centers, and hospitals. About 200 women call APRN each month and start abortion pill reversal, six reversal starts a day.
A “start” occurs when a woman receives a referral to a provider, the provider determines that she is a candidate for abortion pill reversal, and she has received a prescription for treatment.
The total number of reversal starts for 2025 was 2,408, a 25% increase over 2024.
The statistics for 2025 had the total lives saved through Abortion Pill Reversal at 7,500+, however that figure has since reached 8,000+.
“Despite the intense battles faced by the Abortion Pill Rescue Network by those who want to limit our life-saving outreach, a record number of women were helped last year,” Brown said. “Call after call, miracle after miracle, the team of compassionate nurses and network practitioners work quickly to support each woman in hopes of saving the life of each child.”
“Worldwide there has been an increase in online purchases as well as coerced and forced abortions, and the team at APRN ensures women have the immediate care they need,” she said.
“We are honored to serve these families well and to join in the fight in this last chance to rescue a life,” added Brown.
