From cries to silence: The disturbing impact of Walz and Harris's abortion policies

As election season heats up in the U.S., it's crucial to have a grip on the facts—not just for one’s own knowledge but also to share with fellow voters who may still be undecided.

Even some individuals who identify as “pro-choice” might be sickened at Minnesota Governor Tim Walz's abortion record.

Under Walz, there were at least eight cases where babies were born alive after failed abortions. All of these babies died, at least some of those infant deaths surely agonizing as not all of them even received comfort care.

How do we know this?

Simple: the Minnesota Department of Health reported it.

One report offers more information about the first five child deaths, and a second shares details on the remaining three.

These reports are important because they document the truth. And part of that truth is that up until last year, the state mandated these cases be reported.

So, what changed?

Walz got rid of this documentation requirement. He also made sure doctors and nurses no longer had to give care for these babies born alive, as they cried for help.

He just wants them to lay there, helpless, until they die.

That’s not conjecture; it’s literally his policy.

The law, known as SF2995, reduced transparency about late-term abortions and the care of babies born alive during these procedures.

While the abortion debate is frequently fiery, most Americans have historically rejected allowing abortion up to the moment of birth. So, it follows that they would feel the same about a crying, dying baby being left alone.

This is but an excerpt of the Walz record.

It’s also worth talking about Harris. She is, after all, at the top of the Democrat ticket.

As a senator, she voted against two bipartisan bills that would have required a baby who survives an abortion to get the same care as any other baby born at the same stage.

Tweet This: As senator, @VP Harris voted twice against the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act.

Pause for a moment and consider what this really means.

Imagine a room, with a woman in a hospital gown, far along in pregnancy, and beside her is a medical professional who is attempting to abort her baby.

The abortion attempt fails. The baby is born alive, smaller than a typical newborn. This baby wails weakly, shaking. He or she is moved to another room.

The doctor or nurse then leaves, closing the door behind them. This newborn is now alone.

The baby continues crying, confused, hurting.

But no one comes for this child.

He or she is ignored as the suffering continues.

Over time, the wails get weaker and more pitiful.

This goes on as the baby becomes noticeably weaker and the cries get softer, until they are barely a whisper.

Eventually, the baby is still, and still alone, having never known love or compassion.

Harris and Walz approve of this. They would look us in the eye and tell us this is good policy, skipping past the grim details, mind you, because they know how most people feel about late-term abortion.

But they would swear it is the right policy. And there is no debate about that; it’s been established for the whole world to see. They are all too happy to empower those willing to carry these events out.

Zooming back out, Harris and Walz are strong supporters of unlimited abortion access across the country.

Harris, as vice president, pushed for a law that would remove almost all restrictions on abortion, including late-term procedures. She has also opposed any limits on abortion and avoided specifying any restrictions.

Let that sink in for a moment.

Harris and Walz also back policies that could pressure women into having abortions and limit alternatives.

Harris also supported a law forcing pregnancy centers to refer women for abortions and applauded efforts to shut these centers down.

Walz has repealed laws that prevented abortion coercion and removed funding for centers that help women in need.

They also support taxpayer-funded abortion expansion, with Harris pushing to end the Hyde Amendment and Walz increasing Medicaid funding for abortions while cutting support for pregnancy centers.

The pro-life movement should not be quick to dismiss friends, the independent voters, or others who may consider themselves “pro-choice.” We may disagree with them on their stance, but chances are they’d be wildly horrified by what the current Democratic ticket truly supports.

And maybe, just maybe, that could impact their vote.
