(Pro-Life Campaign) On Tuesday, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a budget framework bill that could lead to the defunding of the Planned Parenthood abortion business. The framework is not a budget itself but rather a guide for the budget process.
Calls have been growing louder in recent months for federal funding of Planned Parenthood to be withdrawn. This week’s move by Congress makes the chances of it actually happening in the near future a lot more realistic.

Planned Parenthood’s woes don’t stop there. In recents days, the New York Times published a damning report detailing dangerous and dismal clinic conditions at various abortion clinics operated by the group across the U.S.
The article titled “Botched Care and Tired Staff: Planned Parenthood in Crisis” is extraordinary for lots of reasons, aside from the horrific things it discloses. Most surprising of all is the fact that the New York Times is actually publishing stories that put Planned Parenthood on the defence. Not long ago, it would have been unthinkable for New York’s ‘paper of record’ to blow the whistle on any inconvenient truths at all concerning Planned Parenthood.
Clearly things have gotten so bad and standards have dropped so low at Planned Parenthood that some in the mainstream media have come to the realisation that their own credibility is on the line if they continue covering for or explaining away all the wrongdoing and dangerous practices taking place.
The New York Times piece references “scores of allegations” of botched abortions and substandard care at Planned Parenthood clinics.
Some of the other shocking details contained in the report include: inexperienced peers training new employees; intense pressure on staff to attract more clients and generate more income; staff recounting stories of seeing children as young as 12 and 13 years old receive abortions, sometimes because a family member impregnated them; clients given wrong meds and others given expired pain meds; buildings in desperate need of repairs including backed up sewage with clients vomiting from the stench; staff who reported discrimination or poor clinic practices being fired.
Nothing in the New York Times report will come as any surprise to members of the pro-life movement in the US. What’s really encouraging though is that the mainstream media are finally beginning to pose some very uncomfortable questions to Planned Parenthood.
Currently, Planned Parenthood receives $699.3 million annually or almost $2 million per day in taxpayer dollars. With Congress starting to pay more attention to the issue and the dark revelations about Planned Parenthood continuing to mount, the day is hopefully very close at hand when the largest abortion provider in the U.S. is finally and forever stripped of taxpayer funding.
