(LifeNews) Pro-life Republican candidate Glenn Youngkin has been projected as the winner of the Virginia governor’s race, defeating pro-abortion Terry McAuliffe. Youngkin will replace radically pro-abortion Governor Ralph Northam, who became known as Governor Infanticide after he said parents should decide if they want to let newborn babies who survive abortions live or die.
With 60% of the votes tabulated, Youngkin had 54.6% of the vote compared to just 44.7 for the pro-abortion Democrat.

In a state carried by 10 points by pro-abortion Joe Biden just one year ago, pro-life Republican Glenn Youngkin has cruised to an easy victory as Americans of all political stripes are totally dis-enthused with his job performance.

Olivia Turner of the Virginia Society for Human Life says the impact of a pro-life governor can’t be overstated.
“For two years under a radically pro-abortion governor and pro-abortion majority in our General Assembly Virginians watched as pro-life laws, that it took years to pass, were stripped away overnight. The celebrations led by pro-abortion legislators as the laws fell, were disheartening to say the least,” he said. “Protective laws that gave women the vital information they needed about their unborn babies before having an abortion were tossed out by those same legislators who were backed by the abortion industry in Virginia, including Planned Parenthood and NARAL.”
“The pro-abortion majority in the House of Delegates and the Senate dismantled every rational protection that women had from the manipulation and lies of abortionists, including clinic regulations and the requirement that only licensed doctors be allowed to perform abortions. Their new rules even allow deadly chemical abortion drugs to be prescribed by nurse practitioners and sent through the mail,” Turner added.
McAuliffe supported late term abortion, adding a Right to Abortion Amendment to the state constitution, and has bragged that if elected, he would act as a “fire wall” against any prolife law, as he did during his first term of governor. He even held a campaign event at an abortion clinic. And McAuliffe supports funding of abortion.
In stark contrast, Youngkin has repeatedly said he is strongly pro-life and that he supports passing legislation such as the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act. He also opposes funding of abortion.
