A mom who chose life and achieved her educational goal with assistance from an Ohio pregnancy center recently shared her inspiring story on television, illustrating the importance of pregnancy help for a national audience.
Moriah became pregnant at 16 and received support from a local pregnancy help center where she learned her options and obtained material assistance and personal support, along with parenting courses. She was helped by a pregnancy center for her second child as well, including receiving a free ultrasound.
Moriah completed high school, graduated from college and became a nurse. Later she would complete a master’s degree the same year her son graduated from high school.
Moriah was interviewed on Fox and Friends along with Margie Christie, executive director of Dayton Right to Life.
Moriah shared her story amid the backdrop of ongoing attacks on pregnancy help since the overturn of Roe v. Wade with the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization ruling, including pro-abortion vandalism, threats, harassment, and violence targeting pregnancy centers, churches, and pro-life organizations.
The attacks have also included threats and false rhetoric from politicians such as Elizabeth Warren, and more recently Georgia Democrat Gubernatorial candidate Stacy Abrams claiming that fetal heartbeats at six weeks are not real, that they are concocted by pro-life advocates, and Vice President Kamala Harris praising Democrat state attorneys general for going after pregnancy centers.

Fox and Friends host Rachel Campos-Duffy noted in the interview with Moriah and Christie how the pregnancy center had a volunteer who would pick up Moriah’s homework, deliver it to her school and then bring it back to Moriah, to enable her to graduate from high school, “clearly changing the trajectory” of Moriah’s life.
“So, truly beautiful,” Campos-Duffy said.
That’s “really the outcome” of pregnancy help, she said.
The broadcast displayed a photo of Moriah and her family, Campos-Duffy offering congratulations for both her and her son's graduations.
She then turned to Christie, inquiring about the attacks and their impact on pregnancy centers.
“It is incredible that these facilities that are helping women the most are being targeted,” Christie said.
She listed some of the many things the center provides to support women in need, including pantry supplies, diapers, food, and clothing, along with emotional support and scholarships.
“So, it's really unfortunate that we're the ones being targeted when we're the ones offering real solutions,” Christi said.
Referencing Moriah’s having received an ultrasound, Campos-Duffy said pregnancy help centers wanting to provide women with real information so they can make an informed decision, “seems like the right thing, the empowering thing to do.”
“That's exactly right,” said Christie.
“Women can handle information,” she said. “And so, let's give them as much information as we can. Let's show them their baby, their baby's heartbeat. And then, let's offer them some prenatal care, all kinds of options for them, help with their schooling. Like I said, we have the answers and the solutions for these women.”
Asked her response to Abrams’ claim that there’s no such thing as a fetal heartbeat at six weeks, Christie suggested that people follow the science.
Campos-Duffy asked Moriah thoughts on pregnancy centers in closing.
“I hope that we remain solution-driven and focusing on the strengths of the families that come through those centers,” Moriah said.
Pregnancy help centers offer support beyond pregnancy, she said, citing some community partnerships that offer moms additional support.
“So, there are resources out there,” Moriah said, “and the pregnancy centers often are a great referral source for that.”
