Pregnancy Help Appreciation week will be celebrated this year from November 11-18.
The designated week was started by Heartbeat International as a way to honor those in the pregnancy help movement. Heartbeat is the largest network of pregnancy help organizations in the U.S. and the world.

Through the dedication of pregnancy centers across the country, women and men receive the compassionate support they need when facing a life-changing prenancy decision.
From center volunteers to executive directors, nurses to receptionists, and those who sort through donated baby clothes, each person working in a pregnancy help organization demonstrates and shares their support for the sanctity of life.

In September, Congressman Bob Good (R-Va.) introduced a resolution designating the week of November 11 as “National Pregnancy Center Week.” Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) introduced the companion resolution in the Senate.
“Pregnancy centers provide mothers a safe place to turn to as they look for help, hope, and healing during challenging times,” Rep. Good said. “These centers and the individuals who work and volunteer at them deserve to be supported and recognized for the vital role they play in helping mothers and their families.”
As in previous years, this year’s Pregnancy Help Appreciation Week is intended to highlight the amazing, unsung work of pregnancy centers, which have frequently been the target of attacks since the 2022 overturn of Roe v. Wade in the U.S. Supreme Court Dobbs ruling, along with media distortion and proabortion misinformation.
“Pregnancy help organizations across the nation serve as a beacon of hope, offering compassionate care and life-affirming services at no cost to women and families,” Jor-El Godsey, president of Heartbeat International, said in a press release on the week.
“Through the dedication of these centers, countless lives are changed for the better, through practical support and emotional encouragement to those in need,” he said. “We are deeply grateful to Congressman Good and Senator Lee for introducing a Resolution to recognize National Pregnancy Help Appreciation Week.”
“By empowering women to choose life and helping families thrive, pregnancy help organizations create stronger, healthier communities—one life, one family at a time," Godsey said.
Here are some ways Heartbeat suggests you can show appreciation for pregnancy help workers during the week:
- Pray. The emotional energy given by those who work in the pregnancy help movement is extreme. They give of themselves daily. Pray for spiritual refreshment for those who go into the center today.
- Volunteer. Connect with your local pregnancy help organization and see what their needs are. You may have just the right skills to fill a need.
- Donate items. Call your local pregnancy help organization and ask them what items they need to bless a new mother (such as diapers or maternity clothes) and start collecting. Not only will you bless a center, you will bless multiple families as well.
- Give. Without the generous donations of those within the community, pregnancy centers would not be able to provide their services for free.
- Share the love. Share the good work of the pregnancy help community with your social networks. Don't know what to post? Like Heartbeat International on Facebook and/or Instagram and you'll find plenty to share.
