Prayers Requested After Sol Pitchon Injured in Alaska Plane Crash

Sol Pitchon, longtime president and CEO of New Life Solutions in Florida, was injured when a floatplane crashed in Alaska last week.

The pilot was trying to land in Cascade Bay but crashed into Prince William Sound on the state’s south coast.

In a Facebook post, Charles DiMarco, the new president and CEO of New Life Solutions, reported that “Sol will be physically fine and fully recover from this accident. Praise God for His provision and mercy.”

“Sol was doing as he always does, serving others and pouring into a pregnancy center in Alaska,” DiMarco wrote. “He was also enjoying a few days of fellowship with dear friends. While Sol and the pilot were rescued, the other passenger, Sol's dear friend, heartbreakingly did not survive. Sol is in the hospital and is scheduled for surgery sometime this week.”

Founded in 1985 and led by Pitchon for 20 years, New Life Solutions operates five Tampa Bay-based pregnancy help locations that offer sonograms, STD/STI testing and post-abortion recovery support. The group also runs Shepherd’s Village Single-Parent Residential Ministry and Breath of Life Women’s Health and Birth Center.

“We have ministered to over 100,000 women, teens and families sharing the love of Christ, promoting alternatives to abortion, and serving as a positive resource of help throughout the Tampa Bay Area,” says the New Life Solutions website.

Before joining the ministry in 1999, Pitchon was a Christian psychotherapist, having spent many years working in private practice and a psychiatric hospital setting.

As a Jewish-Christian whose parents were holocaust survivors, he has said it is a “privilege and his destiny to work in the holocaust of abortion in the pregnancy center movement.”

DiMarco has asked the group’s supporters to pray for a successful recovery for Pitchon.

“He is in good spirits, but continue to keep him, and his wife Terri, in prayer,” he wrote. “Pray for successful and favorable outcomes from the surgery and for healing at every level for everyone involved. I think of the verses Psalm 73:28…’But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign Lord my refuge. I will tell of all your deeds.’ And Psalm 50:15…’…and call on me in the day of trouble, I will deliver you, and you will honor me.’ Thank you for your prayers, partnership, and friendship.’”
