Federal lawmakers “heart” abortion dollars

During Tuesday’s State of the Union address, Democrat members of the U.S. Congress posed for pictures with bulky gold lapel pins that read “ABORTION” with a heart inhabiting the opening in the first letter “O.”

Public servants often wear the American flag on their lapel for such events as a sign of patriotism or pride in the country which they serve, but not these individuals.

“Heart abortion.”

The message came across clearly.

The love for abortion - or rather the love of what abortion does for them.

Congress Members wearing this pin proved the focus is not on U.S. women and families, or even "choice,” but instead, blatantly on the monetary and personal gain that Big Abortion provides them at the expense of these women and families.

Democrat Sen. Ed Markey from Massachusetts tweeted a picture of himself wearing the pin with the caption:

“I’m wearing my abortion pin from @PPFA (Planned Parenthood) to tonight’s State of the Union address. Abortion is essential healthcare, and we need to codify the right.”

Democrat Rep. Madeleine Dean of Pennsylvania tweeted similarly, stating:

"I say the word, I wear the word.

Abortion care is health care.

Abortion care saves lives."

The pin proudly promulgated the lie that Big Abortion has been telling for years.

Abortion has been mislabeled by its proponents as “empowering” and “essential” for women, when in fact, abortion not only ends an innocent life but can leave women with lasting physical and emotional trauma

The ABORTION pin was the label for whom and what the lawmakers who donned it serve.

Democrat leaders say they support abortion because they support women. That is false. They support abortion because abortion supports them.

Since the year 2000 alone, Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion provider in the United States, has contributed almost $6 million to federal candidate campaigns.

To no surprise, one of the largest beneficiaries of these campaign contributions has been Senator Ed Markey.

The reality is that abortion profits are derived from the vulnerability and pain of women - with that profit going to the supporters who “heart abortion.”

“How about putting the heart inside the O of the word ‘WOMAN’” said Jor-El Godsey, president of Heartbeat International, the nation’s largest network of pregnancy help. “For them to wear this pin during the State of the Union address was a proclamation of support - not for women - but for the industry of Big Abortion.”

Not pro-woman, but indeed, pro-abortion.

The alternative?

Rather than exploit their situation for personal gain, to love and support women facing unexpected pregnancies with pregnancy help.

By equipping women with resources, support, and compassion - as the roughly 3,000 pregnancy centers across the U.S. do each and every day - abortion not only becomes unnecessary, it is unveiled as the truly harmful option that it is.
