Abortion supporters show true colors through demonic statue

It’s no secret that many, many Christians stand against abortion. There are at least 100 times in the Bible where we are instructed that murder is a sin. There are also plenty of verses about why sacrificing children is a horror.

One of them is Psalm 106:37-38, which states: “They sacrificed their sons and their daughters to the demons; they poured out innocent blood, the blood of their sons and daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan, and the land was polluted with blood.”

And now a new statue, celebrated by many on the left, gives a chilling visual representation to that verse.

The demonic-looking statue was recently installed on top of a courthouse in New York City. The whole point is to support the slaughter of innocent children while memorializing one of the most famous symbols of legal abortion: Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

The eight-foot-tall, golden-colored idol is a nude woman with braids that look very much like horns. She stands atop a lotus flower. The lace collar on the statue is a direct reference to the one the late Supreme Court justice wore.

According to the artist, those horns represent “sovereignty” and “autonomy.”

Numerous people see a clear similarity to the image of Baphomet from the Satanic Temple. We’ll let you look up the image and make a comparison for yourself.

The parallel to satanic imagery was not lost on the president of nation’s largest network of pregnancy help.

“The scoffers have long wanted to deny that abortion today is spiritually the same as the ancient worship of Molech (Lev. 18:21) which is also referenced in Jesus' time,” said Heartbeat International’s Jor-El Godsey.

“In the scripture, demons are always about assaulting and destroying the image of God,” Godsey said, “which is exactly what abortion does.”

The statue’s creator, 53-year-old Shahzia Sikander, told the New York Times (which not surprisingly released a glowing review) that the title of the figure, “NOW,” refers to “now” as a time when women having the ability to have abortions is in jeopardy.

It is a direct reference to the overturning of Roe v. Wade with the Dobbs ruling.

Sikander has had dealings with public “art” in the Big Apple before. She earlier served on the New York City Mayoral Advisory Commission on City Art, Monuments, and Markers.

Another similarly Baphometesque statue by Sikander, titled “Witness,” sits in Madison Square Park.

This same golden Molech-invoking figure is 18 feet tall and wears a hoop skirt wrapped with calligraphic mosaic text featuring the term “Havah.” That is a word existing in the Hebrew, Arabic, and Urdu languages and can take on different meanings.

For the artist, the word is translated as “to breathe,” “to be,” and the name “Eve.”

“Eve” is fitting, as she was the first human to rebel against God.

In the Times piece, New York Supreme Court Justice Dianne T. Renwick is quoted as saying, “We finally have a figure who fully embraces women.”

Renwick also said, “I cannot come into the courthouse without stepping back and looking up and smiling.”

But not everyone is smiling.

American conservative political commentator Michael Knowles posted on Twitter that the “next Republican mayor of New York should not only remove but publicly destroy this monstrosity.”

Another Twitter user posted: New York has put an androgynous baphomet with tentacles digging into its own torso on top of the courthouse in order to “better reflect 21st century social mores.” Sounds about right.

“The purveyors of abortion have now publicly and purposefully aligned themselves with the demons,” Godsey said. “Yet the very heart of pregnancy help counters that and champions the image of God in her and her child.”

Tweet This: “In the scripture, demons are always about assaulting and destroying the image of God, which is exactly what abortion does.”

“NOW” will remain on top of the Courthouse of the Appellate Division, First Department of the Supreme Court of the State of New York, until June, when it will move to Houston, Texas.

The Bible has many verses about standing up for what’s right. Galatians 6:9 states, “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”

And so, we cannot give up fighting against evil, which comes in many forms.

Including a demonic statue atop a New York City courthouse.
